The Way It Was In Years Gone By In St. Thomas, United States Virgin Islands
Over the past years many persons have spoken about the culture, traditions, customs, saying the meaning of some of the words we used, historical facts and other issues on various media. I felt talking about it was not sufficient and found there was a need to write about it in a book so that future generations could have access to the information.
A lot of what I have written in this book is from personal experience as I am a native born St. Thomian and have lived practically all of my life in St. Thomas.
The Island of St. Thomas is beautiful with rolling hills, spectacular views, great beaches and a rich culture. The people of this Island always welcome every one and treat them well. The natives of this island at times have been mistaken to be complacent, slow, not well informed but nothing could be further from the truth.
St. Thomians are known to be very intelligent, educated, aggressive and kind.
In writing this book I have given a true prospective of what life was like in St. Thomas Long Ago, by describing our way of living, our customs traditions, etc.
